NECO 2026 IS NOW CBT

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON NECO EXAMINATIONS:

The Federal Government has officially announced that NECO will begin transitioning to Computer-Based Examinations (CBE/CBT) starting this year.

The announcement was made today by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during NECO’s 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) celebration held in Abuja.

According to the minister, the new computer-based examination system is aimed at:

• Reducing examination malpractice
• Improving examination security
• Enabling real-time monitoring of candidates
• Detecting suspicious activities during examinations
• Modernizing Nigeria’s examination system

The minister described the reform as a major step forward for NECO and Nigeria’s educational system.

At the event, NECO also revealed that the council now conducts examinations in 8 countries and has expanded its digital operations, including electronic result verification and technology-driven examination processes.
